For Eastern Orthodox Church. Presentation in the Temple. Joseph, holding the dove cage, Anna the Prophetess, Mary, and Simeon who cradles the infant Jesus in his arms on the steps of the temple. Above hangs a lamp which is flanked by a Greek inscription. Raised metal wire embroidery on a blue satin-satin-silk ground. Faces and hands worked in split stitch in silk. Short silk and metallic yarn border; mounted on red silk lining. Repaired tears in ground.
