White linen embroidered in crewel stitches with two shades of blue wool, in a design of meandering vine with conventional leaves and flowers; two pieces of ground cloth (later cut and sewn back together); solid areas in Roumanian couching or New England laid stitch; stems outlines in stem stitch and filled in with herringbone; leaves also filled in with dots of cross stitch and seed stitch
