DescriptionWorked on a linen canvas ground with silk and wool threads in tent stitch. Ladies and gentlemen in period costumes are shown against columns through which can be seen trees, mountains and architectural motifs. Subject matter not immediately evident. Colors predominately blue, green, gold and shades of tan and ecru. Large areas of repair and re-embroidering. Where yarns have been replaced, fading has occured. Framed in tortoise shell frame, no glass.
