This is a large, drop-shaped weight or pendant of a reddish clay fabric that has fired black on one side. It has two drilled suspension holes, one at the center and one on the narrower upper portion. Slight rilling-like depressions on one side suggest it was shaped from a vessel fragment.
From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1900. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
