DescriptionPetticoat border made of four pieces of plain weave linen with abutting seams embroidered with trees, plants, and animals (including a goat, cow, rooster, and several birds) on yellow and brown ground along bottom; predominately Roumanian couching or New England laid stitch in ground area, trees, flowers, leaves, and branches; thin stems and outlines of plants and animals in stem stitch, although parts of flowers on far right outlined in hem stitch; large yellow fruit filled in with darning stitches; dots in pink, red, and yellow flower on right in seed stitch; gold-colored centers of several flowers in bullion stitch; complete pattern continuous when two ends joined
