The ground is woven with violet silk and gold thread. The design of long conventional branches forming an ogival framework and enclosing bunches of lilies, a pelican feeding its young and a bishop’s mitre and cross, is woven with yellow silk and outlined with dark red silk. The gold thread of the background runs through the pattern. 96.592 a and b are both pieces.
