DescriptionRectangular piece; two smaller pieces joined to a third larger piece. Full loom width; both selvedges present. Vertical rows of massed flowers and leaves alternate with simple springs on an ecru ground. Two small fragments faded; otherwise condition good except for a few stains.
ProvenanceTag found on chintz: "Hangings of Madam Hancock's given to me by Grandma Wales, June 10th, 1902." This was written by Mrs. William Quincy Wales, daughter-in-law of Mrs. William Wales, who was the niece of Madame Hancock.
