Obverse: Profile bust of Pope Pius IX looking to proper right; inscribed at edge "PIVS IX·P·M·EPISC·AL·L·PRINC XXXIII·" and on bust "BIANCHI".
Reverse: Jesus, halo behind, holds lamb over shoulders and staff in his right hand and four feet are at his feet; inscribed below "[ ] BIANCHI" and in exergue "PRINCEPS·PASTORVM/A·MDCCCLXXVII".
