DescriptionCircular medal of Pope Pius IX (1792-1878), commemorating Pius' visit to the towns of his land.

Obverse: Profile bust of Pius IX looking to proper right; inscribed at edge "PIVS IX·PONT·MAX·AN·XIII·" and under bust "L.BIANCHI".

Reverse: Man (possibly a cardinal) standing at proper left with three men and a horse behind him, and giving blessing to a kneeling woman at proper right, with four people standing behind her, all before a landscape; inscribed below "L BIANCHI" and in exergue "OPT·PR·PROVINCIAE·LVSTRATIO/ANNO MDCCCLVII·".
InscriptionsObverse: Inscribed at edge "PIVS IX·PONT·MAX·AN·XIII·" and under bust "L.BIANCHI".

Reverse: Inscribed below "L BIANCHI" and in exergue "OPT·PR·PROVINCIAE·LVSTRATIO/ANNO MDCCCLVII·".
