Obverse: Profile bust of Pius IX looking to proper left; inscribed at edge “PIVS IX·PONTIFEX MAXIMVS ANNO VII·” and under bust “BONFIL·SACCAGNINI INC·”.

Reverse: Saint Sebastian reclining with a building, roadway, column and circular building in background; inscribed above “VIA APPIA RESTITVTA” and in exergue “A TEMP·S·SEBASTIANI·XP·M·/AD·BOVILLAS/B·SACCAGNINI·FECIT”.
