DescriptionRectangular plaque broken on two sides and missing one corner. Pierced hole in upper right corner. A nude male strides to the left amid spiraling tendrils. He grasps the vines with his raised right hand and his lowered left hand. Bottom edge decorated with wave pattern: left edge decorated with dotted zigzig. Background behind figure and tendrils has tin overleaf.
ProvenanceSaid to come from Bulgaria. 1955, said to have been acquired from Sir Charles Ponsonby, 1st Bt. (b. 1879 - d. 1976) by Robert E. Hecht, Jr., Paris; 1997, gift of Robert Hecht to the MFA. (Accession Date: September 17, 1997)
