Matching suit (kamishimo) including jacket (kataginu) and pleated trousers (hakama) with overall design of small linked circle pattern (wachigai) in white, created by stencil resist-dyeing (kata komon), on a dark indigo plain-weave cotton or ramie ground; the jacket has a stencil resist-dyed crest with wave pattern on the front and back.

The kamishimo was a formal suit worn by men of the warrior class.
