Folk art- portraits. Husband of woman in no. 60.843, and drawn by same hand. Said to be Major Richard William Hart, son of General William Hart, one of Washington’s aides-de-camp. Half-length, seated, three-quarters to left, wearing waistcoat and shirt with pleated ruffle. Left hand slipped inside coat. Quill pens and books on table left. Looped curtain upper right.
