DescriptionUndecorated white figure with shield and sword, said to be a portrait of the Irish actor James Quin in the role of Falstaff, after a painting by Francis Hayman installed at Vauxhall Gardens in 1742 and engraved in 1743 by C. Grignion. Stands on square base, concave beneath, solid and heavily glazed. Unmarked.
