This red polished jar has a shouldered body that narrows to a base with a rounded point. The neck is straight and the rim is slightly pulled outward. The jar was broken but has been mended. The polished surface treatment is worn in some areas.
From Meroe (Beg. S), grave 585. 1923: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
