DescriptionNatural colored, loosely woven coarse linen ground. Between bands of geometric ornament embroidered with terracotta, pink, yellow, light and dark green silk in cross stitch and a coarse vertical satin stitch, is an alphabet in capital letters. Below this, another band in cream and light blue, and the following: "Phebe Abbot/Born January 25.1766" worked in cross stitch in dark and light green and blue. Another band, then a lower case alphabet and numerals 1 to 9. Black silks rotted out in parts.
