The alphabet is repeated three times across top, a band of geometric ornament and a pious verse, and band of ornament, below the maker’s name age and date, “Sarah Williams ended this sampler in the fifteenth year of her age September the 23, 1761”. Across bottom a landscape with little hills, animals, birds, etc. Worked in cross-stitch and satin-stitch with soft shades of blue, green and yellow silk.
