DescriptionPottery; green glaze; incised hieroglyphs on lower face: recumbent sphinx, horned viper, djed-pillar and bAs-vase; hole lengthwise; good condition.
ProvenanceFrom Giza, Menkaura Pyramid Temple, communal burial in room J1 (= pillared hall 27), between pillar 1 and north wall. 1907: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition (found by M. Kh.); assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
