DescriptionPolychromed wood. Bearded with flowing hair, deep set eyes looking slightly right, crouching on left foot and right knee, hands down (hole in right). Red cap, gray shirt, blue breeches, yellow high boots. From the church of Schaftlach.
ProvenanceThe church of the Holy Cross, Schaftlach, Germany (?) [see note 1]. 1960, Phillipp B. Mayer, London; 1960, sold by Mayer to the MFA for £600. (Accession Date: September 21, 1960)
