DescriptionThe spoon has a fig-shaped bowl and a tapering hexagonal stem. The baluster support is surmounted by a circular seal.

Construction:
The bowl and stem of the spoon are forged from a single piece. The seal and baluster support are cast and applied. Traces of gilding remain on the finial.
Marks In bowl, Exeter town mark; on back of stem, maker's mark C ESTON in a rectangular shield (Jackson, 1921, p. 331; rev. ed. 1989, p. 289)
