Square red wool twill tapestry shawl with design in main field of central scalloped medallion with repeating boteh and cypress tree motifs, surrounded by stylized blossoms and leaves. Borders: alternating with a line of repeating boteh motifs, a band of repeating star-like floral motifs and a band of alternating stylized floral and boteh motifs; embroidered in polychrome wool and white cotton yarns; the shawl is made of two pieces stitched together before embroidering.
