Sheer silk tabby shawl dyed in vibrant shades of pink, gold, violet and green. Repeating wreath motif brocaded in gold and red metallic threads along sides and end borders. Snap closure concealed with decorative, flower-shaped “button” of assorted padded silks. Condition: good; some thread loss and abrasion on metallic threads. Few small holes.

Purchased by Ward Dick Kerlin, father of Catherine Kerlin Wilder (Mrs. Amos N. Wilder), in the 1920's. Amos Wilder is the brother of American playwright Thorton Wilder.
