Sherds from a beer jar: flat, stringcut base only. The base is wheelmade and unslipped. The fabric shows heavy zoning at break from low firing temperature. Finger marks left around bottom of base from where the jar was lifted off of the wheel.

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
