Joined side chair with plank seat, back tilting markedly backwards. The back has a pierced splat in a trowel design. There is a carved (red) heart centered on the crest rail above the splat. Posts and back seat rail carved in a ladder-like motif. Finials finished in a four-pointed crown. Traces of old paint on finials, feet, and crest rail.

Provenance

Purchased by the donor from Andrew Nagan of Corrales, New Mexico, in 1994 or 1995; Nagan had acquired the chair from a picker who had found it in a rural community in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, area.
