Side chair of klismos form with horizontal crest rail with scrolled ends, carved anthemia, and raised tablet at center, above a carved swag-and-scrolled splat; stiles terminate in carved volutes at front rail, and area below stile at rear of seat is filled with series of carved darts; front rail is twist-reeded and carved at center; slip seat of birch is screwed to seat rails of birch with mahogany facings; seat rail and slip seat with incised VIII.
