DescriptionThe figure stands with weight on left leg, left hand on hip, and right arm (most of hand missing) raised to its fullest extent. The right leg has been bent too far forward, and the foot has been pushed upward as a result. The surface details of the body are represented by incision, and the alternations of weight and position of the limbs give the figure a lively rhythm. Dents across the back at the shoulders. Casting defects on left elbow. Reddish brown patina.
ProvenanceBy date unknown: with Jerome M. Eisenberg, 1000 Madison Avenue, New York 10021 (said to come from Egypt); gift of Jerome M. Eisenberg to MFA, May 10, 1967
