DescriptionRectangular length, full loom width. Pale slate blue warp, cream weft faded, orig. blue. All over pattern showing lattice work with fish-scale compartments formed by thin rose vine; rose sprig in each compartment. Both selvedges complete: flat, wide, with pink, yellow and white stripes. Blue silk tape sewed on back of silk. A few brown stains, one small break.
ProvenanceTaken from a dress made c. 1860 from silk said to have been used as curtains at Philadelphia in 18th c.
