DescriptionWarp of linen, ground of red wool; the design consists of lions and plant motifs with birds that flank a central roundel containing a bust of a haloed figure, probably a saint or a personification?; a square with a bird in each of its four corners frames the medallion; diagonal branch motifs and linear plants are in the borders; design is of dark and light blue and yellow wool and natural-colored linen. The right side of the fragment is torn. Design shows Byzantine influence.
