Necklaces and neck bands

Seventeen blue and green glazed terracotta “stones,” suspended in a grid pattern from a silver wire circlet.

Elsa Freund, a self-taught jeweler, watercolorist, and weaver, believed in the Modernist idea that works of art gained value from the beauty of their design rather than the cost of their materials. Her Space Pendant necklace was made using terra-cotta “stones” glazed in brilliant colors, arranged in a modern setting of clean, geometric elements.
