DescriptionHard-paste porcelain. Ecuelle and stand of circular shape with slightly domed cover with gilt bud and berry finial. Eucelle and stand each with two pierced foliate and gilt handles. All pieces decorated with a veined puce marbelized ground reserved with elaborate gilt scrolled and lime green cartouches framing chinoiserie scenes depicting figures in landscapes with houses and water conversing, playing, cooking and skinning animals. Center of cover and stand and rim of each piece decorated with friezes of foliage with berries on marbelized bleu du roi ground. Center of stand painted with gilt flower spray. Marks: Ecuelle and stand: crowned interlaced 'L's' with 'E' to left and right. Painter's mark below: (Jean-Jacques Dieu) (All in blue enamel).
Marks Both pieces marked with crowned interlaced Ls flanked by the date letters EE and painter's mark for Jean-Jacques Dieu, all in underglaze blue. Stand is also marked with "41" in underglaze blue and incised "AP".
