DescriptionBronze figurine of a king, originally much corroded and with traces original gilding. The king is show striding, wearing the characteristic Napatan "cap crown" and ram pendants, and holding a small votive figurine of Maat. Lower legs and right hand missing. Cleaned and regilded with gold paint. (D.D. and R.P. Smith, January, 1929).
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Great Temple of Amen, outer court (B 501), Locus IX 6, between brick walls. 1920: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
