DescriptionThis string of beads is composed of five hundred and thirty-two beads from several necklaces and includes two hundred and sixty-one long cylindrical beads, one black ball bead, two blue eye beads, two hundred single ring beads, thirty-seven multiple ring beads, and thirty-one figure eight ring beads. The glazes for all beads are of blue, green, black, and beige colors.
ProvenanceFrom Egypt, Giza Menkaura Pyramid Temple. 1911: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
