DescriptionThis string of beads includes sixteen large carnelian and crystal drop-shaped pendants, two amethyst and one black stone ball, one carnelian barrel; a number of pendants, viz. four amethyst, three carnelian, three faience and one amazonite hawk; one amethyst ape, one faience triangular drop pendant; one amazonite and one carnelian hippopotamus head; one ivory flat pendant and one carnelian heart.
ProvenanceFrom Egypt Mesheikh (Mes / 136 / B). 1912: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt.
