DescriptionStrip fragment, from silk used at Attingham Park, Shropshire, in early 19th C. Drawing room and picture gallery. White silk taffeta, painted with opaque polychrome and silver pigments. Sprigs and bouquets of berries and flowers, sparsely placed in a row. Three sides cut; fourth shows selvedge with green satin stripe and yellow outer stripe. Chinese export for the European market
