Marks Struck under base with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letter for 1748-9) and with maker's mark of James Shruder; the covers struck with lion passant and with maker's mark of James Shruder.
ProvenanceMade for Thomas, 5th Lord King and Baron of Ockham (1712-79); after his death, by descent within family until to Earl and Countess of Lovelace; June 8, 1995, sold by the Earl and Countess of Lovelace at Sotheby's, London, lot 111, where most probably bought by Alan and Simone Hartman, New York, NY; 2001, gift of Alan and Simone Hartman.
