DescriptionThe covered bowl forms a flattened sphere resting on a raised stepped foot. The body is raised from sheet, with an applied wire rim. The raised cover has a molded wire rim and at the center a circular applied wire that serves as a handle or, when inverted, as a foot.
Marks
On underside of bowl and cover, maker's mark WF (Grimwade 3874); lion passant; date letter P; leopard's head crowned.
InscriptionsARMORIALS: engraved on side, the coat of arms and crest of Cooke, Gildea Hall, co. essex, and Gloucestershire, with Bruers, Powell, powis, or Sutton in pretence.
