Each spoon is forged from a single piece of silver and has a deep oval bowl, a rat tail, a flattened stem, and a ridged Hanoverian terminus.

Inscription

ARMORIALS: engraved on each stem, the crest of Hall or Butts.

On back of handle, maker's mark IT (Grimwade 1703); lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter E
