Redware stoneware, polished and cut (or molded). Cylindrical with moulding at rim & base. Sides cut in wide flutes alternately scaled & plainly paneled. Strap handle to which is affixed hinged holder for right-angled hinge of silver flat-domed cover with Scandinavian coin of Emperor Leopold. Patterned scroll purchase. Cover engraved: 14 LODI F at right of handle; and around coin within design: Rasmus Christensen Biersuten Walber Olles Dater 1741, in semi-script. Mark: HB conjoined.
