DescriptionGround: entirely perished; cream glazed linen cloth sewed to bottom of piece. Warps: cream linen. Design: silk tapestry in red, yellow and black silk and cream linen; woven with long slits. Series of bands, each with a yellow imitation Kufic inscription. Tails of letters form narrow border (.01 wide) on red ground. Shafts of tall letters (.035 high) divide band into compartments containing a guilloche with cream rabbits on red ovls. Above is line of yellow affronted animals on red stripe. At top and bottom of each band is line of debased Naskh writing (.01 high) in black on yellow. Inscription: "Victory from God" (repeated) See note on 15.764.
