Ground: fine natural linen cloth, almost entirely cut away. Design: tapestry band woven on triple warps. Line of Kufic (.1 high) in white linen, formal; filled with brown silk; on a pink silk ground; decorated with white linen palmette and stems and green silk stems. Below is a border (.025 wide) with a running vine (of white linen with brown silk) enclosing confronted animals of yellow, brown and green silk on a pink ground; Very worn and in shreds. Inscription: “Commander of the Faithful”. See note.
