Two fragments of a border. Heavy white linen warp; the design is woven with deep blue, red, green, and orange wool and linen thread. The ground of one half of the border is white, of the other half is green in 17.179a and dark blue in 17.179b. On the green and blue ground are groups of four red, white, and orange oblong blocks and round forms of red, blue, orange, white, green and red. On the white ground are red spade-like forms separated by blue columns?, with a yellow spot at the top and bottom. Probably decorated a neck opening.
