Warp of linen; ground of brownish purple wool; interlacing tracery design of natural-colored linen, below this are a narrow border of purple diamonds and lobed forms on a linen ground. Discovered by W.M.F. Petrie in the Greco-Egyptian cemetery of Hawara in Fayûm in 1888. Design shows Roman influence.
