DescriptionLinen warp: on the ground of pinkish red wool is a design of vine scroll motifs that form connected lozenges, each framing a rosette, woven with natural-colored linen. "Part of a dress of a woman, perhaps a Syrian. Found not far from San (Zoan); she was mummified and wrapped in her clothes and laid in a basket of rushes." This piece is similar to the small piece joined to 85.630. The design shows Byzantine influence.
