Warp of linen, ground of brown wool; the design consists of nine squares, the central and each of the corner squares enclose warriors and each of the four others encloses scrolling ornaments surrounding an eight-pointed star, woven with red and deep violet and yellow wool and natural-colored linen; the design shows Roman influence.
