DescriptionThe thrown milk jug is pear-shaped with a loop handle, a large relice-molded spout, and a flat cover with floral finial. The body of the milk jug is white. On one side a chestnut-colored stag stands in profile facing the handle. Behind it is a long, brown wooden fence, a tall tree with sparse foliage, several smaller blue trees, some small green bushes along the fence, and a broad-leafed plant. On the reverse of the jug a bushy-tailed fox facing the spout stands with its front legs on a tree stump overgrown with grass. Behind the fox is a tall green and blue coniferous tree and, to the left, a smaller tree with green foliage. Below the trees are some green bushes. The handle is molded and gilded to simulate a cut branch. Small blue and yellow flowers with green foliage are applied on either side of the handle, where it is joined to the jug at the top, and on the right side at the base of the handle. The spout is molded in low relief with scales and branches that are gilded, as is the top rim of the spout. A gilded pattern of C scrolls and dots decorates the top of the jug and the perimeter of the cover. The lid is also decorated with three small puce floral sprays and an applied floral finial, which is gilded. A single band of gilding decorates the top of the foot ring. The thrown tea cup is bowl-shaped with a wide loop handle. On the exterior opposite the handle, a large brown hare facing right crouches on the ground in front of low green bushes, a tree, and some tall blue grass. The inside rim of the cup is gilded with the same pattern used on the top of the milk jug. Inside the bottom of the teacup is a puce flower spray. The thrown saucer depicts a reclining brown doe facing left. In the background is a tree below which are green and lavender bushes. The inner rim is gilded with the same pattern as that used on the rest of the set.
