DescriptionDrum-shaped teapot with vertical sides and angular straight spout, twisted ribbon handle with four leaf and flower terminals, strawberry finial. Decorated with gold bands and the sides with initials "SAA"
InscriptionsMonogram "SAA" in gold on side of teapot.
ProvenanceProbably Samuel (b. 1788 - d. 1863) and Atlanta Aspinwall (b. 1793 - d. 1861), Boston; 1863, by inhetitance to their daughter Helen Elizabeth Smith (b. 1833 - d. 1902); 1902, by inheritance to her daughter Alice Wilder Smith (b. 1877 - d. 1967); 1967, bequest of Alice Wilder Smith to MFA.
