春の部。現埼玉県川口市の荒川の渡しを描く。対岸の大きな屋根が建久6年(1195)建立の善光寺で、開帳の折には渡し舟が往来した。将軍の日光社参の際にもこの渡しを渡ったが八代将軍の場合は仮橋(かりはし)を架けたという。 -- 藤澤紫K
