Author portrait; frontispieces; illustrations to Shakespeare's plays; decorative tailpiece vignettes.

The plates only from the Oxford edition of Shakespeare's plays, with illustrations by Gravelot. The illustrations to the plays themselves are engraved by Gravelot after Hayman; the others are drawn and engraved by Gravelot. Loosely laid in is a frontispiece by Gérard Scotin after Gravelot to a set of Bible illustrations (possibly from a London 1733-39 edition of Picart's Ceremonies and Religious Customs of the various Nations of the Known World (see BN, Inv. 18th, 94-175, though this print not listed).
