DescriptionRectilinear tile fragment, molded. Dark blue lapis-lazuli glaze (lajvardina) applied to prepared stone and fired; cream-colored swirling designs, red outlining, and gold leaf applied before second firing; decoration in two registers separated by a raised ridge outlined by red bands, the lower containing part of calligraphic lettering outlined in red and filled with gold leaf, the upper with peony blossoms composed of a stem and trefoil leaves, outlined in red and filled with gold leaf
