DescriptionPanel "The Trafalgar Chintz" Selvedge remains on right edge, has been cut on left side and lacks about one quarter of the full fabric width. Cotton printed with woodblocks and heightened with brushwork. Repeat shows polychrome motifs including "classical" arches, balustrades, shrines, urns combined with pyramids, sphinxes, camels; all surrounded by large flowers, leaves and palm trees. Inscriptions refer to Nelson's heroism at Battles of Nile, Copenhagen, and Trafalgar, and to Nelson's last signal. Condition fresh with a few stains and minor repairs.
